A Flamenco Show in La Taberna Flamenca 

The Taberna Flamenca is located in the heart of Jerez, next to the Iglesia Santiago Real, a 14th century gothic church. The location in old city center is only ten minutes from the Royal School of Equestrian Arts and just a few hundred meters from the Andalusian Flamenco Foundation. Jerez is famous for its trained pure bred Andalusian horses, its fine Sherry and of course flamenco. Many consider Jerez to be the cradle of flamenco, tracing the origins of this music and art form back to the city.

The flamenco show in the Taberna Flamenca begins at 22:30 and lasts approximately an hour and a half. The performance includes between five and eight artists, many of which come from Jerez and have deep roots in the local flamenco scene. The specialty of La Taberna Flamenca is featuring the young flamenco talent from the city, representing the next generation of artists which will continue the tradition of flamenco music and dance. The establishment atmosphere is typical flamenco mixed with the city of Jerez: the building includes high, wood beam ceilings characteristic of the bodegas of the city. Photos of flamenco artists along with equestrian decoration pay respect to the history and livelihood of Jerez and Andalucia.

The restaurant and flamenco venue offers shows with dinner or drink during the winter months, as well as a lunch and flamenco show option during the summer. The recommended drink is of course sherry, and one can try several different varieties or choose from La Taberna Flamenca's wine list. The restaurant is typical Andalusian with some traditional Spanish specialties. The seasonal menu includes dishes such as gazpacho, paella, as well as a variety of fish and meat entrees.
