Bringing together the best flamenco musicians and dancers, the Bienal de Flamenco in Sevilla began in 1980 and has been going strong for 30 years. The bi-annual event is held on the even numbered years, with the next installment in 2012.

The Bienal lasts for about 30 days and includes a multitude of venues throughout the city, from theatres to smaller establishments. This is one of the most popular flamenco events in the world, and aside from the official program there are always many parallel shows, events and exhibits scheduled to coincide with the Bienal.
